I honestly can't wait to read the rest of the saga. This incredibly well researched historical novel at times feels like a peek into a family diary. The reader is transported to a straightforward view of life during one of our country's most horrific and misunderstood eras. There is no glamour, no magnificent mansions or posh society. These are real people surviving unbearable times. Thank goodness we know it's part of a series and we can watch them grow!
